Library in the West - source of information

Postby Ganesha » Tue Feb 09, 2010 9:19 pm

Did you know that most of the libraries in the West give you free membership? One of the good things about it is you can use the internet for free even if you are visiting the place. Apart from the bookish information that we generally believe libraries have, they can tell you a lot about the place itself and you might be able to inquire of any help you might need. All it requires is contacting a library personnel when you are there.

Well, thanks to you @Ganesha, I got membership to the local library... they have a good library of recent movies and some very good books. Recently I got my hands on "outliers".. seems like a nice book.

Good. Read "The In Between World of Vikram Lall" by MG Vassanji. (I am sure your library has it.) And if you decide to read and do complete it, we could have a discussion. Its a charming book. :)

Thanks @Ganesha, but no thanks. As charming and interesting as it looks like, it seems too complicated for me... :( maybe later. I did not think you were into such heavy weight stuff.

ha.ha.. Its just a story of a kid in a "dukhi" country. And the man himself is a nuclear physicist turned storyteller and lives in Canada. Anyway, we will talk about it someday later.

Normally forum etiquette says that one should not respond just to convey an emotion and when there is nothing to say really. And I pride myself in following such etiquettes. But I'm going to make an exception to this response and say nothing. I just want to :). Thanks, as always.

Frankly speaking, I did not know about emotions and forums. Hmm... thanks. I will have to read in detail about it.

I cannot recall exactly where I read the guidelines. I think it was one of those irc channels.
